  1. Yes, it can be very normal! I never did, but I do know of people that had this happen. Buy some breast pads now! :)
  2. You'll have enough to feed your baby and the daddy should he want some.
  3. Actually, I don't know. I didn't leak anything till my baby was born. Call your midwife and ask - it probably isn't a problem, but just in case.
  4. Very normal and yes there will be some when she's born. The hormones released during childbirth are what start the change from colostrum to milk.
  5. It is very normal! :-) And yes, You'll have more than enough for the baby when she's born! :-)
  6. yes, i think it's normal... I started leaking like 2 weeks ago and my dr said it happens at different stages for everyone and that not all women leak before they give birth. Yes you daughter will have colostrum once she's born...we are just leaking some, not all the supply....
  7. Wow, I have never heard of that! Ask your doc, are you sure it;s colostrum? If it is, ask a lactation nurse about using a pump and storing it? I know that is filled with nutrients!
  8. There is more than enough colostrom available. You will continue making it until the baby is born and until the perfect food for baby arrives; your milk. Custom made for your baby. Do yourself a huge favor and take a Bradley childbirth class. You can find a teacher near you at bradleybirth.com. It will be the best thing you could ever do for both yourself and your child! 9. it is normal and yes there will be some for the baby. don't worry about it. just worry about labor coming soon since you don't have that much more to go. congratulations on motherhood.
  10. yes its normal and yes it will be there still.
  11. Yes, it is normal. And yes, there will be plenty when she is born. Your body continues to produce colostrum until a couple of days after birth...then your milk will come in. With my first pregnancy, I began to leak at about 26 weeks and trust me...there was plenty left! I am 30weeks in my third pregancy and have had colostrum for over a month. Don't worry...your baby will have plenty to eat!! Good Luck!
  12. with my second child i was wearing breast pads from 18weeks pregnant and with my first child from around 15weeks. i never had any problems with feeding them when they were born.
  13. yes it is normal, i am 32 weeks , and i started leaking about 2 weeks ago.
  14. I had the same thing happen. For me it started at about 2 months pregnant and just got worse as my pregnancy went on. Keep nursing pads in your bra! That saved me alot of embarrasment and clean shirts. I had plenty for my new daughter. My milk came in just fine. According to my OB/GYN it is just the raging hormones and not to worry, they are doing their job well. Best of luck!
  15. yes its perfectly normal, the production of colostrum will increase a lot as you get further along in your pregnancy. with my daughter i was producing colostrum at around 24 weeks, im not quite 10 weeks pregnant now and im already producing some. Your normal, and there will be pleanty for baby when they are born, good luck and congrats!!!!!!!
  16. Absolutely normal honey! Actually, with my first pregnancy I started leaking colostrum at 22 weeks. This time around I noticed it at about 14 weeks (and it is still leaking quite a bit). I breasfed my son, and plan on breastfeeing this baby too. It's just a sign that everything is working as it should. You may notice you leak a little more when you talk about your baby, or after a hot shower. Just keep an eye on the color and consistency of your colostrum. It should never have a funny odor or be discolored in any way (it's usually a clear to creamy whitish substance). Should you ever notice warm red areas on your breasts, it could be a sign of a clogged milk duct. You can use heat and massage to try and break this up, and call your doctor right away if you develop a fever. Good luck to you in your pregnancy! The next few weeks are really going to fly by!
  17. THere will be plenty when the baby is born...happend to me at 6 months.
  18. yes it is normal. the colostrum is not what your baby drinks anyways. they drink the actual milk. it is white, just like you see in stores. the colostrum is the liquid that comes before the milk. your breasts are just preparing for the arrival of your baby. it will probably gradually increase over time. mine was only coming out of my right breast at first for a few weeks and then it started coming out of both.
  19. Very normal as my wife at 28 weeks used to leak colostrum and use to have to wear breast pads during the day. And watch out during sexual intercourse it makes em squirt for fun. Good luck with you and the new child.
