How do they check the immune system?
How do the doctors perform an immune system check to find out whether you have a fine-tuned or low immune system?

- They do a full array of blood tests including: Complete blood count which includes all of your white cells which are part of your immune system; your hemoglobin; IgA; IgG and other immune factors, ANA antibodies to see if you have an autoimmune disease, ESR sedimentation rate to see if you have inflammatory process going on in your body; liver functions; kidney functions, C Reactive Protein also indicates an infection or inflammation in the body. There are special tests to indicate the # of white cells called (& I think B cells)T Helper cells , killer cells which when they detect something foreign will surround it & kill it off. You go to a hematologist whose specialty is the blood, but GP can do all initial tests.
