Immune System?
I always seem to catch a cold or get a mild infection when either the season changes or I do something that my body isnt used to. Take for example when I joined the gym a few months ago. A week after I got into my program I got a cold and had to give a few days to recuperate until I could begin again. Do I have a weak immune system? If so is there something I can do to make it stronger? Does Echineacea actually work? I know it isnt a diet thing because I have a healthy diet and dont drink much alcohol. Any suggestions? Thanks

- You may want to have your doctor do a complete blood count; to make sure you have sufficient white blood cells, and no underling disease.
- If you expose yourself to a lot of people, say Gym, School, Swimming Pool, then you will contract a lot of infections. Likewise, Autumn and Spring are the seasons when the bugs really come into being. On the other hand, exposure will build up your immune system, a double edged sword. Just as a matter of interest do you breath in through your nose? Perhaps you are a mouth breather, so are bypassing the filtering system in the nose. Best of Luck
- Echinacea is only suitable for short term use and long term use is likely to actually WEAKEN your immune system so you are better off without it. Taking 1 or 2 gm of vitamin C every day will help. Garlic is a very good immune system booster as it is both an antibacterial agent and an antimicrobial agent and is very good for people with sinus problems. Taking 6 high strength odourless 3,000 mg garlic oil capsules (Herron) every day will definitely help.
