I am 19 weeks pregnant and I've started to lactate colostrum. It's my first pregnancy...?
and I'm not sure how normal that is. I just wanted to get some input on other women out there who lactated long before their due date. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

- I started lactating in about my 7th month of pregnancy with my son...not sure of the exact week. (It was 6 years ago...a little hard to remember lol.) I know it's farly common and one of those "not so great" parts of pregnancy but they have pads to put in your bra that will keep it from leaking onto your clothes, ususally used when breastfeeding. Not sure if there is any way to stop it...I doubt it, but asking the doc wouldn't hurt. Good luck. :)
- I remember that being a normal thing that happened to me sometimes with my first. With the second I was still breastfeeding during the first part of the pregnancy, so that was different. Those pads you put in your bra are great - the cloth washable ones. You can just put them in with your laundry.
- Yes I was about 20 weeks when it started happening to me. You have nothing to worry about. Also it doesn't mean your milk is coming in too early,, that's what I was worried about.
- I started lactating about 18 19 weeks. I'm 22 weeks now it's not real bad or anything. Just a little weird, My doctor said that it would either lighten up as it went on, and it also means i'm a natural choice for breast feeding. So your going to be a naturally great choice for breast feeding and it should lighten up. Good Luck!!!
- IT IS OK CALM DOWN I STARTED TO LACTATE AT 4 MONTHS WITH ALL 3 OF MY PREGNANCY'S WOULD YOU LIKE TO TALK 1 ON 1 IF SO MY YAHOO ID IS babygirl2007911@yahoo.com I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU I HAVE A LOT OF EXPERIENCE IN THIS HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU
- With my first( I am now on PG#5) I began leaking, or should I say flowing like river at 20 weeks. It is just as normal as not leaking at all. Don't worry.
