What things can I do to really strengthen my immune system?
I am now recovering from slight bronchitis. I am quite sick of being sick, and I want to make my immune system as strong as possible. What I am looking for are suggestions on vitamins, minerals, or things I can eat or drink that will help to boost my immune system greatly. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you.

- eat more veggie and fruits..
- I take multiple vitamins, vitamin c, calcium, fish oil.. When I am feeling ill or starting to I double up on vitamin c....2-3 500 tabs a day
- Hi I would go to a natural health shop and speak to someone there, there are alot of natural remedies you can take that can help, i find it's always best to go with natural products as they help you help your immune system along with eating right and exercise, also when you get a bug take care of yourself straight away so you nip things in the butt before they get worse. If you take proper meds you find they do help but wear off and your immune system goes back to being weak.Basically temporarily work. Please not that if you are sick quite bad i would then go to a doctor
- best thing you can do is eat well, sleep enough and get some exercise. when you take care of your body it takes care of itself.
- Besides eating/drinking vitamins and minerals, you can pray in tongues, as I assume you are a believer in Christ? Praying in tongues can boost your immune system, because the Bible says, "He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself" (1 Corinthians 14:4) The word "edifies" in the Greek means "builds a house" or "repairs a house". So when you pray in tongues, you are building or repairing your entire being - spirit, soul and body. If you don't know how to pray in tongues, just ask God for the gift, who is more than willing to give you this wonderful gift of the Spirit. Then start speaking in tongues - it's not hard. In fact, Paul wrote, "the Spirit also helps in our infirmities (or weaknesses). For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered (in a known language)." (Romans 8:26) The word "groanings" means sighings, which can be speaking in tongues or praying in the Spirit softly, under your breath - no need to pray loudly as it is for your personal edification. A sister has shown me a video about some scientific/medical study on praying in tongues. You can watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZbQBajYnEc ----- Praying in tongues is also the rest and refreshing for yourself. "For with stammering lips and another tongue He will speak to this people, to whom He said, 'This is the rest You may cause the weary to rest.' And, 'This is the refreshing'" (Isaiah 28:11-12, 1 Corinthians 14:21) Now that you are on the recovery, you certainly need lots of rest and refreshing, and in no time, you will be well, strong and healthy again, by the grace of God. :) --- God bless you.
- Vitamin c powder, 4gms a day, cod liver oil, two teaspoonfuls daily, iodine as in Lugal's solution, 3 to 7 drops per day. Real Kefir from grains, worlds best pro-biotic.
- Contrary to popular belief that vitamin C can cure a common cold scientific research for this is conflicting. While vitamin C does not cure a common cold it does shorten the duration of the cold. Therefore orange juice and grape fruit juice are a good choice for breakfast. Garlic has powerful anti-viral, antibiotic and anti-fungal properties and boosts the immune system in general. Echinacea also has a reputation as an immune system booster. Eat food rich in phytochemicals "Phyto" means plants, and the natural chemicals in plants give the vitamins in food a supercharged boost. Say good bye to those vitamin pills, and hello to dark green, red, and yellow vegetables and fruits. Selenium, found in vegetables grown in selenium rich soils, is a another important nutrient which supports the immune system. It functions by recharging vitamins C and E, and coenzyme Q-10. Whole grain breads and cereals are rich in vitamins and minerals, including zinc and vitamin E. They help with keeping a healthy immune system. Plain yogurt is excellent for creating good bacteria that help boost your immune system. A probiotic will fortify your intestinal flora, which are essential for proper digestion and nutrient absorption. This is key to good health and a strong immune system. Another key is to stay alkaline. Reduce the intake of sugar since sugar makes the body acidic and pathogens strive on it. Stay Hydrated: It is one of best ways to flush out all those toxins and avoid alcohol. It destroys the liver(the body's primary filtering system) therefore germs of all kinds won't leave your body as fast. In addition it also dehydrates the body. The use of herbal teas can also help alleviate symptoms such as sore throat. Ginger tea and black tea contain tannins that effective for shrinking the swelling and reducing irritation. Grandma sure was not kidding about salt water gargling, The salt enhances the anti-inflammatory effect. These few changes might just reduce the frequency of those awful mornings. Also a great liquid nutritional vitamin supplement like Sea Aloe can boost your immunity if taken everyday. Please contact me if you need more information! Take care. Stu W.
