immune system?

i didnt have much sleep last night...does this lower your immune system? causing you to become more prone to contracting an infectious disease? (hypochrondriac here:P)

  1. Lack of sleep over a period of time can indeed weaken your immune system. When you sleep, your body uses this time to make any needed repairs to your tissue and fibers. It also gives your body a chance to catch up with you and ward off any infections or illness. I don't think one night of bad sleep is anything to worry about though.
  2. One night does not matter, keep doing it for a month or so may make your immune system weaker. So don't worry if you miss a night or two nights of sleep just don't do it for weeks and months.
